Today we want to talk barn lighting. Barn lighting is a nice option for areas that need more definition and allows you to switch up the exterior lighting plan to allow different fixtures on the front of the house and other unique areas like garages or outbuildings. It can also be used as the front of the house lighting if another fixture is used for porch lighting. As much as we like the classic barn lighting look we are always searching for options for our clients to set their home apart from the others in their neighborhood.

Here are some new takes on the barn light that we think you should try.

This retro styled barn light has a glass bottom that reminds us of factories and gyms from the past with a updated modern edge. Since the black iron can by styled with many home exterior colors, this option is a nice one to try with a updated exterior paint look. We think it could work on many home exteriors and would instantly update any home with a clean look.

We’re into anything copper on the exterior right now and with this light coming in at a easy to scoop up price of $236 we had to include it in our list of favorites. Copper is such a nice way to brighten and update a home and can be paired with other copper accents like house numbers, mailboxes, gutter downspouts and more.

Even though this option isn’t making any drastic style statements we like it’s a subtle turn on the classic barn light look. The color change makes it a easy choice to add a unique look to a home without reinventing the wheel.

At almost $750, the Henry is our priciest option and one we knew we had to include. This fixture has a extreme modern flair that almost makes it not a barn light while maintaining the barn light formula to be included in this list. We like that options like this are coming out so even a more modern exterior could be satisfied with a modern barn light like this. We think this one takes the idea of the modern farmhouse to new and exciting place.

The Killmer is the most eye-catching addition to our list this week. We’re not sure it’s actually a barn light, even though we found it while searching for a barn light option for a client this week. We think this option would be perfect on so many home styles and we are just waiting for the perfect house to put it on ourselves! And with a price of only $122 we can’t believe we aren’t already seeing it around town.
